TARGET SHOOTING

Target shooting is one of our most popular activities; it involves concentrating on distant targets and firing with consistent accuracy. It requires focus, agility and a very steady hand. Cadets fire in controlled ranges at targets ranging from 5.5 metres away to 300 meters. This is all done under close supervision and following rigorous training.

Cadets initially train on either air rifles or the No.8 bolt action rifle before progressing onto the L98A2 Cadet GP rifle, the L81A2 Cadet Target Rifle and even the L86A2 Light Support Weapon which is capable of firing over 600 rounds per minute.

Cadets can work towards various marksmanship awards along with competing at both local and national level in target shooting competitions.
