CAMPS

As an Air Cadet you can take part in many residential activities in the United Kingdom and overseas.

Each year cadets have the opportunity to spend a week on a Royal Air Force station living and working alongside members of the regular armed forces. They get to see a glimpse into the daily life of service personnel along with taking part in flying, target shooting and other fun activities.

Cadets regularly visit overseas military units in Germany, Cyprus and Gibraltar. More recently a team of Cadets and Staff from Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing visited Ascension Island in the South Atlantic Ocean taking part in adventure training and conservation along with visits to various British military units on the island.

The International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE) links the Air Cadets in the United Kingdom with the rest of the world. Each year we exchange students so each gets a taste of the other’s culture and another great cadet experience. The first exchange was in 1947 between the United Kingdom and the Canadian Air Cadets. The world-wide cadet family now comprises more than 20 nations, with around 600 cadets/volunteer staff exchanging annually.
