TRAINING AND EDUCATION

As an Air Cadet you will constantly be learning, but this learning is like nothing you will do at school. Our activities are practical and will give you qualifications and skills that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

As you work through what we call classification training you learn about navigation, airmanship and engineering which is tested by online assessments, when you complete these you can gain a Level 2 Award in BTEC Certificate in Aviation Studies. This, with training in instructional techniques, helps you train the younger cadets. BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Teamwork and Personal Development and Music are also available. These extra qualifications look great on a personal statement and are are recognised by employers. Best of all, THEY ARE FREE!

Could you be a lifesaver? We instruct all our cadets in first aid varying from the British Heart Foundation Heartstart course to a full First Aid at Work qualification. This is supplemented with training in food hygiene and health and safety.

We treat all our cadets as adults, installing high levels of leadership, teamwork and communication skills. These are developed and tested by the use of command tasks along with responsibility within the Organisation, we have a rank structure similar to that of the Royal Air Force.
